 - LES Artistes / Santogold iTunes Myspace
 - Chemtrails / Beck iTunes Myspace Mr. Hansen gets his Floyd on with this advance track from "Modern Guilt," which will reveal itself July 8. Until then, just turn on the lava lamp and party like it's 1969.
 - Violet Hill / Coldplay iTunes Myspace
 - My Drive-Thru / NERD w/ Santogold and Julian Casablancas iTunes Myspace This was recorded for Converse's new campaign. It blows anything away on the NERD's new album "Seeing Sounds." This has my early vote for summer jam of 08. Oh yeah, it's also the song's first week on the Mixtape.
 - Hurricane Jane / Black Kids iTunes Myspace The band's full-length debut, "Partie Traumatic" drops in July. This song, with the rest of the band's "Wizard of Ahhs" EP will be on it in newly recorded versions. Hurricane Jane is the song to beat this year. It spent 9 weeks on top during March, April, and May.
 - Sequestered in Memphis / The Hold Steady iTunes Myspace
 - Time To Pretend / MGMT iTunes Myspace This is the catchiest track from album-of-the-year contender "Oracular Spectacular." Don't think they have to worry about getting "jobs in offices in waking up for the morning commute" anymore.
 - I Will Possess Your Heart / Death Cab For Cutie iTunes Myspace
 - No Social / Shortwave Set iTunes Myspace
 - You In Color / The Black Angels iTunes Myspace
 - Doves / The Black Angels iTunes Myspace
 - Discipline /Nine Inch Nails iTunes Myspace Trent's best song since 2005's "Only." And it's free from theslip.nin.com. Trent may be a tortured soul, but at least he hasn't forgotten to share.

I'm baaaaaaack!!! After a year on myspace, I decided that this was the best format for the Mixtape so here it shall remain. The top three will always have videos to go with them even though it's getting harder to find official clips for the tunes. This week, it's three live clips that capture the energy of the bands and songs nicely. Don't forget to listen with the player to the right if you are so inclined. It mirrors the Mixtape for the week so you can read and listen simultaneously for the true lo-fi interactive experience.
It's good to be back. Happy Summer everyone.
